The Ministry of Agriculture reported that during this period, agricultural and agro-industrial sales abroad totaled 28,607 million dollars, 4.48% more than what was recorded in the same period in 2023.

It was explained that agricultural and agro-industrial imports grew at a slower pace in the first six months of the year, totaling 22.85 billion dollars, an increase of 2.93%.

Within the country, the agricultural and fishing trade balance registered a surplus of 2,689 million dollars, higher than 126.36% Compared to the first half of 2023, exports rose by 6.56% in this period, totaling 12.997 billion dollars, and imports fell by 6.36%.

The agro-industrial balance recorded a surplus of 3 thousand 69 million dollarswith exports of 15.61 billion dollars and imports of 12.542 billion dollars, he said.

He highlighted that vegetables, beverages and fruits were the main export groups by concentrating 62% of the total, with 22, 22 and 18% of participation, respectively.

The exports with the greatest economic growth in the first half of the year were frozen orange juice, with 77.87%; Grapes, fresh or dried, raisins, 59.53%; coffee, tea or yerba mate preparations, 53.66%; cattle, 52.02%, and chocolate and other food preparations with cocoa, with 20.87%.
