The Management Board of the State Fund “Zemedelie” (SC of DFZ) approved the support rates under the “de minimis” aid for farmers growing potatoes, nuts (walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts) and cultivated mushrooms. The aid is granted to cover a part of the producers’ production costs for 2024, reports the DFZ.

The approved budget for the minimum aid is up to BGN 13 million: up to BGN 7,000,000 for potatoes, up to BGN 5,000,000 for nuts (walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts), up to BGN 1,000,000 for cultivated mushrooms.

At a previous meeting of the Board of Directors, it was decided that the final amount of the rates will be determined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food after the completion of the acceptance of applications, which took place from July 12 to 26.

Within this period, 2,058 applications were received. After administrative checks carried out by the fund, the size of the areas eligible for support in the three directions was established: 4488.32 ha of potatoes, 7324.55 ha of shell fruits (walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts), 61 942 sq. m. of cultivated mushrooms.

Based on the size of the areas eligible for support and the approved budgets by direction, the unit rates were formed, which the DFZ Board approved at today’s meeting: for potatoes up to BGN 1,550/ha; for nuts (walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts) up to BGN 600/ha; for cultivated mushrooms up to BGN 16/sq.m. m.

The maximum amount of “de minimis” aid for one farmer or the same enterprise may not exceed the BGN equivalent of 25,000 euros (BGN 48,895.75) for a period of three consecutive budget years (2022 – 2024). .

The instructions for granting the aid are published on the website of the DFZ.

BTA reminds that in 2024, the Fund decided to provide “de minimis” aid to the producers of potatoes, nuts and mushrooms at the request of the branch organizations in order to compensate part of the increased production costs during the year, remaining outside the scope of the bound with the production of income support for vegetables Campaign 2023, the lack of qualified labor, as well as the alternating unfavorable climatic conditions in previous years.
