Aguinaldo Silva: A Journey Through Love, Pain, and Novela Success in Brazil

by time news

On Goucha, we talked to the author of several successful Brazilian soap operas.

Aguinaldo Silva is one of the most successful authors. He published a book of his memoirs, where he recalls the hit soap operas he’s created, but also his life story, which he shares with us in a unique conversation. Aguinaldo Silva spoke about the love of his life, which ultimately turned out to be a toxic relationship. He admits that he couldn’t control what he felt, but he was a man who loved intensely: “It was the greatest passion, but it was hell.”

He recalls that he was a German man and often left home without returning.

Aguinaldo was born in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Unusually, he says he was born “poor, ugly, weird, and effeminate.” A lonely and poor childhood, where he barely had anything to eat.

He soon realized he was different from other boys: “I was not condemned to women; I was predestined to men.” Because of this, he fought against homophobia and was a victim of bullying.

He has always dealt well with his homosexuality and in the world of soap operas, he did not feel discrimination. He is currently single but has had two serious relationships in his life.

However, his biggest partner has been with Globo. As the author of several soap operas for 41 years, Aguinaldo wrote many hits.
