Preventing information pollution and increasing the professionalism of the Azerbaijani media are the key tasks of today.
As Day.Az reported on Friday with reference to Trend, this was announced at the conference “New trends in modern media: information security and professionalism criteria“said the executive director of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan Akhmed Ismailov.
“Media reforms have updated the image of Azerbaijani journalism with its rich traditions and opened new horizons for development. Thanks to these reforms, the authority of journalism in society has increased markedly. For the first time, a strategic course to improve media literacy has been implemented, which demonstrates a systematic and conceptual approach to the development of the industry,” – Ismailov noted.
He added that the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War gave a powerful impetus to strengthen the media and begin a new stage in their development.
“The decree “On deepening reforms in the media sector in the Republic of Azerbaijan” signed by President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation for further transformations and professional growth of the journalistic community,” Ismailov emphasized.
