MONCLOVA, COAH.- Legal representatives of the company Altos Hornos de México, located in Monclova, formalized a complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office for the fire caused by criminals over the weekend.
The criminals allegedly started the fire with the intention of fleeing from private security who surprised them trying to rob their facilities.

Rodrigo Chaires Zamora, regional delegate, announced in an interview that since the incident was reported, an investigation folder was initiated for the crime of damage qualified by fire, and it is now complemented with the formal complaint.
From now on, the work of the Prosecutor’s Office is to take off with some investigations, since general aspects were raised within the complaint and there is no specific indication.
“It will be up to us to expand our investigations, it makes things a little easier when there is a direct accusation and on this occasion there is not,” he said.
At the moment the Prosecutor’s Office has received two complaints from the Altos Hornos de México legal team, one filed weeks ago for a series of robberies inside the company and the latter for the fire that occurred last weekend.
“We have to see if there is a connection between that diverse complaint, the arrest of a person and this latest incident,” said the delegate.

VANGUARDIA announced that last Saturday criminals who were surprised by surveillance personnel in waste confinement areas of Plant One of Altos Hornos de México, while fleeing, caused a fire in a temporary warehouse for disused tires.
The emergency protocols were immediately activated and the cooperation of the Monclova and Frontera fire departments was requested, with elements and equipment that have been added to the internal protection and security personnel.
Due to the type of material, mainly rubber, the fire that started shortly before 6:00 a.m. is difficult to extinguish, which is why the initial task was focused on using heavy machinery to create a containment barrier, in order to prevent its spread. towards other internal areas and subsequently work on their control.
The location of the deposit is far from residential areas and does not represent risks to the population. Within a few hours the fire was controlled.
