Before 10 o’clock on the clock, the media personnel appeared at the traditional Ahsan Manjil of Old Dhaka. Two cricketers from Comilla and Fortune Barisal appeared in the car of Comilla Victorians about an hour late.
It is an unwritten rule that the two captains are present at the final photo session. But talk about BPL. Zaker Ali Anik came from Comilla and Mehdi Hasan Miraj represented Barisal. But everyone expected the two captains Liton Das or Tamim Iqbal to unveil the trophy. Miraj-Anikra came and first shot for the broadcasting company and then participated in the photo session.
The BPL trophy was unveiled on Thursday morning. Comilla-Barisal will fight for the trophy in the final. Champion Comilla reached the final for the fifth time with this. On the other hand, this is Barisal’s second final. Liton Das’s team secured the final after defeating Rangpur Riders in the first qualifier. Barisal secured the final by defeating Rangpur in the second qualifier after defeating Chittagong Challengers in the eliminator.
Comilla reached the final four times and won the title four times. They do not have the bitter experience of losing the final. However, Mushfiqur Rahim, an experienced cricketer of Barisal, does not want to believe that he has never lost and will not lose in the future. Mushfiq wants to win this year’s title for himself and Barisal’s first title.
After defeating Rangpur in the second qualifier, Mushfiq came to the press conference and said, ‘Let’s see, I have a desire (to win the trophy for the first time). Everyone has a wish, the rest is the wish of the superior. I have come so far… I will try to win the championship. Comilla never lost in the final. Who knows, maybe this will be the first time to lose!’
The final match will be held at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday evening. The BPL authorities have no additional arrangements for the final. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will end the organization of this league based on the largest franchise of the country with a modest laser show.
