AI Companies Focus on Neurodivergent Abilities – Health & Wellness

by times news cr

(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 24 – By 2027, 25% of Fortune 500 companies, the list of the largest US companies by revenue compiled annually by Fortune magazine, will actively recruit people with neurodivergent abilities (characterizations that include autism, attention deficit syndrome or ADHD, dyslexia) to improve company performance.
This was revealed by Axa Investment Managers, explaining that the forecast is part of a recent study by research firm Gartner which presents what are considered the main trends that will characterize the world of artificial intelligence for 2024 and beyond.
“The development of AI – it is explained – is linked to the employment of new talents. Several studies highlight how meticulous attention to detail is one of the most sought-after skills. Therefore, a greater employment of workers with neurodivergent abilities in companies is expected”.
So what skills will companies be looking for most in workers? Apparently, there is a double thread linking the way generative AI operates and the specific cognitive abilities typical of autistic people.
In fact, the meticulous nature of AI work aligns well with the detail-oriented approach commonly seen in autistic professionals. Every little detail can have a dramatic impact on the overall performance and success of the new technology. Autistic people, in particular, have a tendency to hyperfocus on what interests them most.
According to experts at Auticon, a provider of business consulting services on how to create, develop and improve their neurodiversity-inclusive teams and processes, in addition to meticulous attention to detail, companies will look for ‘pattern recognition’ and “problem solving” skills. (ANSA).
