Accepting the request of O. Panneerselvam, the Madras High Court has adjourned the hearing of the cases related to the AIADMK General Committee to the next day (August 10).

The Supreme Court had transferred the case filed by O. Panneerselvam against the Madras High Court order which refused to ban the AIADMK General Assembly held on 11th July to the High Court and ordered that the investigation be completed within two weeks.

Accordingly, when these cases came up for hearing again last week before Justice Krishnan Ramasamy, Panneerselvam and Vairamuthu said that they had written to the Chief Justice asking that a different judge should hear the case afresh.

Justice Krishnan Ramasamy pointed out that he had already heard and ordered the case twice, and sent the case to the Chief Justice to appoint a judge to hear the case afresh.

Earlier, when these cases came up for hearing today, O. Panneerselvam’s side requested that the case be adjourned to tomorrow as senior advocate Guru Krishnakumar from Delhi is present.

Accepting this, Judge Jayachandran adjourned the hearing to the next day (August 10) at 2:15 pm.
