AIADMK General Council meeting, Tamilnadu political news- The demand for a single leadership is now erupting within the AIADMK, which has been running smoothly for so many days with a dual leadership.
OPS vs EPS, AIADMK General Council meeting, Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) vs O Panneerselvam (OPS): The issue of single leadership in the AIADMK has taken shape. Most of these party executives are backed by Edappadi Palanichamy. In the meantime, OPS had written a letter to EPS asking it to adjourn the General Assembly. With no response available, OBS Avadi filed a petition with the police yesterday seeking permission for the meeting as it could lead to unrest at the AIADMK general body meeting.
Police are also investigating the location of the AIADMK general body meeting in Chennai. The police yesterday questioned former minister Benjamin about the security of the then AIADMK General Committee. Police also inquired about the arrangements made at the public meeting.
The petition seeking an injunction to amend the AIADMK rules is being heard in the Chennai High Court today. It is pertinent to note that the petition seeks the removal of the basic members and the ban on new appointments.
With the general assembly set to take place tomorrow, the AIADMK’s single-leadership affair could change momentarily until the last minute.
