Chennai: The Madras High Court has ordered the police to file a detailed report tomorrow (July 15) regarding the incidents that took place in front of the AIADMK headquarters on July 11.

On the 11th, there was a clash between OPS and EPS supporters at the AIADMK head office in Rayapetta, Chennai due to the single leadership issue. Due to this, the AIADMK head office has been locked and sealed by the Revenue Commissioner citing law and order problem. Palaniswami as interim general secretary of AIADMK and O. Panneerselvam as coordinator of AIADMK had filed separate petitions in the High Court demanding the removal of this seal.

The case came up for hearing before Justice N. Satishkumar. Senior lawyer Vijay Narayan, appearing for EPS, said, “There is no problem regarding the property of the party. The head office of the party is currently in the possession of the AIADMK. As per the constitution of the party, I am in charge of the office as the head club secretary. In this situation, the action of the Tamil Nadu government to seal the office of the party is wrong. .

Before the day’s General Assembly meeting, the former chief minister along with a group broke into the locked headquarters and took away the computers and files kept in the office.

Even before this incident took place, we had filed a petition with the police seeking protection. Such incidents have occurred because no action was taken on the complaint. And it is anti-democratic for an opposition party to come and seal the office. Therefore, the order allowing the sealing should be set aside,” he argued.

Subsequently, the OPS side said, “No order has been issued not to enter the party office. The issue between two people in the party can be resolved in other ways. The government has not paid attention to this issue and has issued an order to seal it mechanically. Therefore, it was argued that the order should be removed.

According to the police, “Based on the complaint given by the AIADMK members, they were gathered from the Music Academy to the AIADMK head office. At that time, the OPS who came in a procession was asked not to come. But he defied the police order and went inside. After this, riots broke out in the area. This was not a conflict between the police and the EPS-OPS side.

Conflict between EPS and OPS parties. So both of them are responsible for this problem. The police took action to prevent this. It was argued that due to the action taken by the police, casualties in this conflict have been prevented.

After hearing the arguments of all sides, the judge ordered the police to file a detailed report tomorrow (July 15) regarding the incidents that took place in front of the AIADMK headquarters on July 11 and postponed the investigation.
