After having its world premiere during the Critics’ Week, in this year’s edition of the Cannes Festival, the film Child by International Cinema Academy (AIC) professor, Marcelo Caetano, will have its national premiere at No. Festival made Riowhich takes place between October 3rd and 13th, in Rio de Janeiro.
The production arrived in Brazil with some awards in its baggage: in Cannes, it secured the Ricardo Teodoroone of the protagonists, identified as the New Artist. At the Lima Festival in Peru, Child nominated as the best LGBTQIA+ film and, once again, Teodoro securing the GIO for the best Performance. Finally, in San Sebastián, Spain, it was recognized as the Best Queer Latino Film of the Year with the Sebastiane Latino award of the edition.
Summary
After leaving the detention center for young people, Wellington finds himself alone and goes through the streets of São Paulo, without news of relatives and resources to start a new life. After visiting a pornographic cinema, he meets Ronaldo, an older man who teaches him new ways to survive. Little by little, their relationship turns into a passion full of conflicts, which is between discovery and protection, jealousy and confusion.

From Cast to Screen designed to help actors and actresses improve their processes and presentation in the market. With a performance of 20 hours divided into 5 sessions, the course covers three main axes: presentation material, casting process and character development based on the script.
On the first corner, Marcelo Caetano focus on analyzing and improving participants’ promotional materials, such as videos and resumes, to improve talent perception. The second chapter explores the cast system and the importance of improvisation. In the third stage, students work on interpreting the scripts, deepening their understanding and writing realistic and on-set characters.
