AIC professor participates in Cinema Meetings

AIC’s Art Direction professor, Daniela Aldrovandi, will participate in Encontros de Cinema, an event organized by Itaú Cultural (IC) which provides dialogues about films, meetings with directors and reflections on Brazilian audiovisual conception. The meeting is scheduled for the day September 26th, at 7pm, with free entry, but subject to seat availability. Reservation can be made by site.

In addition to Daniela Aldrovandi, the event will be attended by architect and art director Valdy Lopes, mediated by Juliana Di Grazia Costa.

Meet the speakers

Daniela Aldrovandi She is an art director, graduated in painting and specialized in fine arts. She was awarded Best Art Direction in 2017 at the Cine PE and Cinema dos Sertões festivals for the short film “Diamante, a Bailarina”, directed by Pedro Jorge. Among his most recent works are “Medical Confessions” (2018), “Tooth for Tooth” (2020), “Mundo Curiozoo” (2020) and “The Day My Life Changed” (in the final phase).

Valdy Lopes, architect and art director for cinema, theater and TV, has an extensive career and has collaborated with directors from various generations and styles of Brazilian audiovisual. Among his notable works are “Contador de Histórias” (2008), “Tomorrow Nunca Mais” (2009) and “Grande Sertão” (2021). On television, he stood out in the art direction of productions such as “Antônia” (2006), “3%” (first and second seasons, 2017), “Aruanas” (2020) and “Verdades Secretas 2” (2021).d

Juliana Di Grazia Costa, chat mediator, has worked in art direction for audiovisual projects since 2001, performing various functions, including research, concept development, object production and scene decoration. With a degree in history, a postgraduate degree in documentary cinema and a master’s degree in aesthetics and art history, she contributed to productions such as “Hebe – A Estrela do Brasil” (2019), “Somos Tão Jovens” (2013), “As Boas Maneiras ” (2018), among others.
