The film Cheapdirected by former student of Filmworks, Amen Calamitywon the Popular Jury award at the Lift-Off Global Network. On January 30th, at 10am, an online screening of the film will be held at canal do festivalfollowed by an interview with the director.
The production of Sabratha Filmes in partnership with the Barra3 Films is Amen’s course conclusion work. The team was basically made up of AIC students, including the cast with former students of the Acting Technician for Cinema and TV, Nathalia Martins, Samira Uchôa and the academic coordinator Vanessa Prieto.
Cheap was also awarded at the Filmworks Film Festival 2023, an AIC short film showcase, with the award for Best Cinematography for Lucas Lyrioformer student Filmworks and Honorable Mention in Direction for Amen Musbah.
Synopsis
The invasion of a cockroach triggers a rift in the relationship between Ingrid and her fiancé. Haunted by terrifying hallucinations, Ingrid enters a spiral of doubts and has difficulty distinguishing what is real and what is not.
