AIC supports Peripheral Visions Festival

The 16th edition of the Peripheral Visions Festival, which has the support of the International Film Academy, takes place between the 2nd and 8th of March in a hybrid form. In addition to the in-person exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, the Shows Fronteiras Imaginárias, Panorâmica and Visorama will be shown on the event’s website.

The festival, a pioneer in privileging films produced by directors who live in the multiple peripheries of Brazil, this year will show 78 films, including feature, medium and short films. On Show Imaginary Borderswill be displayed films of up to 30 minutes produced by independent directors from all over Brazil; Gem Cinema: films of up to 30 minutes produced in the State of Rio de Janeiro; Panoramic: films lasting 40 minutes (medium and feature films) Visorama: films of up to 15 minutes produced in audiovisual training projects in Basic Education, High School and/or third sector projects.

In addition to the exhibitions, the festival holds the Lab visionsa laboratory for the development of fiction feature projects that will receive mentoring in the areas of script, direction and executive production.

This year’s edition takes place at Net Rio Station, Net Botafogo Station, Cine Teatro Eduardo Coutinho (Biblioteca Parque Manguinhos) and CineCarioca Nova Brasília.
