Aid Al Adha: BAM takes preventive measures to ensure ATM supply
Rabat – Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) announced, Thursday, the implementation of preventive measures to ensure the availability of funds in automatic teller machines (ATMs) in all prefectures and provinces of the Kingdom, on the occasion of Aid Al Adha.
“Given the strong demand for fiat currency during the Eid Al Adha festival which will be celebrated this year as an extension of the weekend, Bank Al-Maghrib has taken preventive measures, in consultation with the banks, to ensure the availability of funds in automatic teller machines (ATMs) in all the prefectures and provinces of the Kingdom,” BAM said in a statement.
These measures mainly concern the supply of banks with sufficient quantities of banknotes to cover all their needs during this period, as well as coordination with banks to ensure the reliability of the availability of ATMs on a technical level and in terms of supply of banknotes.
This also involves setting up an internal unit at BAM to communicate with bank representatives in order to monitor the supply of ATMs and deal with any possible difficulties, the same source said.
