by time news

Thiruvananthapuram ∙ There is a difference of opinion in the Left Front regarding raising the pension age in public sector institutions. CPI’s youth organization AIIF came forward against the action. DYFI leadership is not ready to respond. The opposition organizations have decided to come forward with a strong strike. The Youth Congress will march to the Secretariat today.

The finance department explains that it has been decided to unify the pension age at 60 due to different retirement ages in public sector institutions. The pension age of KSEB, Jala Authority and KSRTC has not been increased for the time being. An expert committee has been appointed to study this in these institutions. There are about one and a half lakh employees in 122 public sector organizations and 6 financial corporations.

In a statement, the state committee of the AIIF said that the order increasing the pension age to 60 in public sector institutions is objectionable and this is a measure to protect tens of thousands of educated youth.

The government’s decision to increase the pension age in public sector institutions is an act against the youth. This decision can only be considered as a challenge to the unemployed youth. This decision is highly objectionable as increasing the pension age is not the policy of the Left Democratic Front. State President N. Arun and Secretary T. T. Gismon demanded that the decision should be withdrawn and the right of youth to be protected should be protected.
