Aion 2: Distrust – Beginner’s Guide & Avoidance Tips

by Grace Chen
As a healer, I continued to search in disbelief.
If you just avoid this, you won’t die.

1. Shoot the bow upward
You need to stop everything you are doing and prepare to run away.
If you are not confident, you can easily avoid it by dashing at first.
2. If you dash once in step 1 and dodge, you will have plenty of blood left.
In that state, if you are a long-distance character such as palace or magic healing,
The boss flies towards you and makes an area attack once.
When I looked at it, it seemed like it was flying towards the character that was furthest away.
In my case as a healer, if there is a palace, I go to the palace.
If there is no archery, almost 99% of the time it will fly towards me who is conning from the end range.
The moment I press Q to replenish the blood missing from dodging once or to refill my side’s blood, it hits.
3. When the boss shoots a bow at the floor, fiery arrows fly from the floor at the users’ location.
If you get hit twice, as soon as you wake up, dash around the boss either clockwise or counterclockwise.
Otherwise, it seems like you get hit twice and can’t dodge a third time.
When a certain amount of blood has been lost, shoot once and then shoot again.

In most cases, these three are used in succession.
Or use it 12 times and use a different pattern on number 3.
If you get hit with just 2 of these 3, you die.
If you don’t dodge properly the first time, you just get hit once and you die.

The 3rd time, I didn’t know that I was shooting 2 shots in the second half, so if I got hit by both shots, I was dead…
So please, if you are watching the boss motion and the boss fires multiple shots into the sky…
Stop everything you’re doing and run…
At first, I didn’t know this, so I kept dying.
Ah, these three come almost in a row? So I got used to avoiding it.
I felt like there were so many people dying in that pattern.
It may be a strategy you all know, but
Don’t waste resurrection stones like I did.
I will write…
There are almost 3 in a row, so be sure to pay attention to that consecutive pattern.

A healer’s desperate search for survival has yielded a critical warning: avoiding a specific attack pattern is the key to not dying. It’s a lesson learned through repeated failures, and one that could save others valuable resources—and their characters.

Decoding the Deadly Sequence

Understanding this three-part attack is crucial for survival, as getting hit by even two parts of the sequence often results in defeat.

The Initial Assault: Look Up!

The first step in this deadly sequence involves the boss character shooting a bow upwards. Players must immediately cease all current actions and prepare to flee. A quick dash can provide a vital initial dodge, offering a brief window of opportunity.

Follow-Up Attack: The Long-Range Pursuit

If the initial dash is successful, players will retain a significant amount of health. However, those playing long-distance characters—such as palace or magic healers—should be prepared for the boss to fly towards them and unleash an area attack. The attack appears to target the character furthest away. For healers, especially those without an archer present, the boss will almost always target them. This attack often occurs the moment a player attempts to replenish health, making timing critical.

The Ground Fire: A Double Threat

The third component of the sequence involves the boss shooting arrows into the ground, which then erupt into fiery projectiles targeting players’ locations. Getting hit twice by these arrows is particularly dangerous. Players who are struck twice should immediately dash around the boss, either clockwise or counterclockwise, to avoid a potentially fatal third hit. The boss will often follow this pattern by shooting once, then again, after a certain amount of health has been lost.

In most encounters, these three attacks are executed in quick succession. Occasionally, the pattern will deviate after 12 repetitions, substituting a different variation of the third attack. However, even being hit by just two of these three attacks is often enough to result in death. A failed initial dodge almost guarantees a fatal blow.

The consecutive nature of these attacks is key. Recognizing the pattern and preparing for the next phase is vital to survival. Don’t underestimate the importance of anticipating the follow-up shots.

One player recounted repeatedly falling victim to this sequence, initially unaware of the double-shot variation in the final stage. The advice is clear: when the boss fires multiple shots into the sky, prioritize evasion above all else. Resurrection stones are precious; learning to avoid this pattern is a far more sustainable strategy.
