It is the thirteenth day of strike at Air Antilles and Air Guyane. The two subsidiaries of the Cairo group, which provide flights to around thirty Caribbean destinations, are up against their direction. It was the pilots who launched the movement on July 15 to demand a salary increase. Social dialogue is so broken that the Ministers of Overseas Territories and Transport have been alerted to the threat of cessation of payment hanging over the two airlines. But this standoff between pilots and management is only the tree that hides the forest. It’s a whole company that denounces a lack of transparency and calls for better working conditions.
