KUALA LUMPUR: The plane was diverted after a snake was found inside after taking off. The incident happened on Thursday on an Air Asia Airbus 320-200 flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Tawau.
Passengers noticed the snake crawling through the illuminated area inside to place luggage on top of the plane. The plane was diverted to Kuching airport after passengers panicked. After landing here and evacuating the passengers, the staff caught the snake. It is not clear how the snake got into the plane.
It is believed to have been carried in the bag of one of the passengers. It is not clear if anyone secretly tried to smuggle the snake. AirAsia officials said all passengers were safe. The video of the snake crawling inside the plane went viral on social media.
