Air Force Commander Warns of Service Disruption for Pilots Refusing Orders

by time news

The commander of the air force, Tomer Bar, has issued a warning to pilots who refuse to serve, stating that they will be removed from service. The IDF’s previous policy towards these pilots seems to be coming to an end, and in a meeting with officers, Bar stated that anyone who refuses to serve in the reserves without conditions will be terminated. This threat came after approximately 300 pilots signed a rebellion petition regarding the matter. In the past, the Air Force stayed silent on the issue, and now changes will be made. Bar believes that politics need to be removed from the army and the air force and that a policy change is necessary for the future.

The commander of the air force threatens: we will stop service to pilots who refuse

The commander of the Air Force came to his senses and in a conversation with officers announced that he would remove the refusing pilots from service. “We need to clean politics from the army and the air force. We are between waves, in the next wave there will be a policy change”

The IDF’s stammering policy towards the refusing pilots is apparently coming to an end. 12 News reporter Yair Sharki revealed that in a meeting between Air Force Commander Major General Tomer Bar and Air Force officers, the IDF said that it would terminate the service for those who refuse to come to the reserves without any conditions.

“Whoever is not interested in volunteering or serving in the reserves simply won’t be here and as far as I’m concerned there is no difference between training and operational activity,” Bar was quoted as saying by Sharkey.

Let’s recall that the threat of pilots not reaching the reserves began immediately after the Knesset elections, when about 300 pilots signed such a rebellion petition, long before the legal reform. The Air Force was silent, the previous and current Chief of Staff stammered and that’s how we arrived at a reality where every morning another military reporter publishes one or another reservist petition of reservists who say they will not report for duty if the reform is passed.

On the inclusive attitude of the air force so far and the policy change, Bar said: “We need to clean the politics from the army and the air force. We are between waves, in the next wave there will be a policy change.”
