Air France and Transavia suspended their flights to Beirut until at least Tuesday

Airlines have suspended connections to the Lebanese capital since July 29.

Airlines Air France and Transavia France have decided to suspend their flights to Beirut until at least August 6 with, “Due to the security situation”their parent company, Air France-KLM, announced on Saturday.

Services to the Lebanese capital by the two companies have been suspended since July 29, amid fears of a military conflict between Israel and the Shiite movement Hezbollah. In addition to Air France and Transavia, several airlines have suspended their flights to the Lebanese capital, including those of the German group Lufthansa until August 5. Lufthansa and the Italian group ITA also announced on Wednesday the suspension of their rounds to Tel Aviv for several days. Normally, Air France operates a daily connection to Beirut from Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle via a wide-range Airbus A330. Transavia France, which operates Boeing 737 and Airbus A320neo-aircraft, connects Lebanon from Paris (eight flights per week), but Marseille and Lyon (two flights each) and Nice (one flight).
