One less connection. Air France will leave Strasbourg-Entzheim airport from March 30, 2025, the company announced to AFP on Wednesday, confirming information from Latest news from Alsace.
From this date, “the Strasbourg – Lyon connection will no longer be provided by the company”, a decision following “the worsening of the economic performance of this connection”. This is explained by “the reduction of point-to-point traffic in France in general” due to the “development of videoconferencing” or even by the “reduction of professional travel and the switch to trains”, according to Air France.
Reduction in connecting traffic from Strasbourg via Lyon to other destinations in France and Europe was also observed. The cancellation of this connection “will entail the closure of the Air France airport in Strasbourg”.
The Paris-Pau connection canceled by Transavia
“All interested personnel will be offered another operational flight management mission, without modification of the workplace or forced departure”, the company further specifies, specifying that the use of “internal mobility devices” will also be possible if they want it.
Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport counted more than one million passengers in 2023, a figure up 9% compared to 2022.
On August 30, Transavia decided to permanently interrupt the connection between Paris and Pau. Bookings for this route were too few, explained the low-cost subsidiary of Air France.
