Vijayawada: An Air India Express flight from Vijayawada to Kuwait reportedly took off several hours ahead of its scheduled time on Wednesday without carrying 15 passengers. The flight to Kuwait took off from Kannavaram airport in Andhra Pradesh at 9 am. Earlier, around 15 passengers could not board the train, which was scheduled to depart four hours later at 1.10 pm.

“Passengers were informed about the rescheduling but they did not follow it. Those who had booked tickets through agents were not informed about the rescheduling of the departure time. Now, those passengers have to wait till next week for another flight to Kuwait,” Kannavaram airport director Lakshmikanth Reddy was quoted as saying by ANI. published Air India staff reportedly informed the passenger about the change in departure time. However, the passengers who missed the flight alleged that they did not get any information.

In a similar incident, a Singapore-bound flight reportedly took off from Amritsar airport hours ahead of schedule, leaving 30 passengers behind. The incident took place in January. In another incident, a Delhi-bound GoFirst flight took off from Bengaluru airport without carrying more than 50 passengers waiting to board the passenger compartment.
The DGCA issued a show cause notice to the airline for “numerous lapses” that led to the departure of 55 Delhi Airline passengers at Bengaluru airport.
The airline apologized for the incident, saying it was due to an error in passenger coordination. It also offers one free ticket to all affected passengers traveling on any domestic sector in the next 12 months.
