Air India is going to lease 6 A320 Neo aircraft from China Development Bank’s subsidiary operating in Ireland.

After the Tata Group bought Air India from the Government of India, the company announced plans for various phases of transformation, including expanding domestic and international flight services.

In this case, Air India is in the process of leasing six A320 Neo aircraft from China Development Bank for Aviation (CDB Aviation), a subsidiary of China Development Bank. The agreement for this was signed in the ‘Asia Pacific 2022’ conference on economic growth in the aviation sector.

CDP Aviation is number one in the list of aircraft leasing companies for Air India. These planes will be handed over to Air India in the second half of next year, according to a statement issued by the company.

Regarding this, Air India’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nibun Aggarwal said, ‘This agreement will enable us to strengthen our aircraft with modern technologies and increase connectivity on short and medium-haul air routes. This is an important step in our journey of change’, he said.
