After being a central government company, the company has been reeling under heavy losses in recent years.
Following this, earlier this year, Air-India was handed back to the Tata Group.
Tata Sons Group manages Air India, which has returned to its hands.
Tata Sons, which is making various changes in the company, is planning to buy 500 new aircraft worth several thousand crores of rupees.
