It is planned that airBaltic’s fortieth A220-300 aircraft with registration number YL-ABN will join the airline’s fleet in early April 2023, when a special event in Riga, Latvia is planned to celebrate this event.

This will be the second A220-300 aircraft in the airBaltic fleet with a special livery in the colors of the Latvian flag.

Until now, “airBaltic” has transported almost 11,000,000 passengers with A220-300 aircraft.

In total, the airline has made more than 126,000 flights with them and has flown more than 275,000 hours.

The airline reminds that since May 2020 “airBaltic” operates all flights only with “Airbus A220-300” airplanes. This decision simplifies fleet maintenance and also provides additional benefits to aircraft efficiency.

“More than six years ago, airBaltic became the first airline in the world to start flights with the A220-300. These aircraft have become the basis of our flights and operations, and we continue to be a proud ambassador of these aircraft. Over the years, there has been a successful cooperation and friendship between us as the national airline of Latvia and our partners in Canada, so we are happy to be here today to honor this aircraft and the work we have done together over the years. We are proud and honored that this aircraft is part of our growing A220-300 fleet,” he said “airBaltic” President and CEO Martins Gauss.

“Airbus Canada’s Senior Vice President for Customer Satisfaction, Services and A220 Product Policy,” Rob Devars, admitted that the unveiling of “airBaltic’s” fortieth A220-300 aircraft, which will proudly fly in the colors of the Latvian flag, is an important moment in “Airbus Canada”. This aircraft symbolizes long-term and continuous cooperation with airBaltic, as we have a common goal to provide passengers with the most sustainable and comfortable flight experience. A220 aircraft have flown more than one million hours and carried more than 70 million passengers.”
