The private airline ‘Highfly’ has set this record by landing its Airbus A340 aircraft in Antarctica.
The plane, which had previously departed from Cape Town, South Africa, flew 2,500 nautical miles to pick up supplies for Wolf’s Fang Adventure Camp in Antarctica. This marks the first time an Airbus aircraft has landed in glacier Antarctica. Carlos Mirpuri, the pilot of the plane, said that the temporary landing gear had been prepared for the landing and that there was no problem in landing.
