As overseas travel becomes more popular after the pandemic, restaurants and food companies are developing menus that can only be eaten at the airport. Recently, Gopizza, which opened a store in Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, introduced the ‘Hot and Go’ pizza, which allows people to quickly finish their meal in time for their flight. Are you enjoying your summer vacation in this hot weather? The food you eat while on vacation is so delicious. Recently, as the number of airport users has returned to pre-pandemic levels, attention is also being paid to the delicious restaurants in the airport.

Usually, multi-use facilities including airports entrust food and beverage businesses to food companies for operation. It is called a ‘concession’ business, which means transfer. As the concession lineup at airports recovered after the endemic, menus that can only be eaten at airports have also appeared and are gaining popularity. This week’s pick introduces airport-specific menus that will make your vacation even more enjoyable.

Pizza franchise Gopizza recently opened ‘Gopizza Incheon Airport T2’ in Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport. It is the second airport store in Korea after Gimpo International Airport. It introduced the ‘Hot & Go’ half-size pizza that can be eaten quickly in time for the flight as an airport-specific menu. It is characterized by using its own food tech technology to pack it immediately after baking and keep it warm with a special warmer.

Dunkin, which opened a store in Incheon Airport Terminal 2 in April, also sells airport-specific menus targeting global tourists. They sell Castella twisters, which are modern reinterpretations of twisters, Choco Ring Marshmallow twisters, and Double Choco twisters. A Dunkin representative said, “Many foreigners see the traditional twister as a ‘Korean donut,’ so we developed a menu that captures the Korean flavor.”

Popular airport menus are also spreading to other regions. SPC is selling ‘Pangyo Hogam Sandwich’ in Pangyo and ‘Gapyeong Matnam Sandwich’ in Gapyeong Rest Stop, thanks to the popularity of Jeju Airport’s hit product ‘Jeju Mind Sandwich’. Angel-in-us also expanded the sales locations of Udo peanut madeleine ‘Angel Bang’, which was previously only sold at Jeju Airport Outdoor Plaza, to Lotte Department Store’s Sogong Restaurant and Element stores.

Food that can only be eaten in certain places is another pleasure of traveling. How about airport-specific menus as a pleasure to start your trip?
