What can we say about Aitana’s life that is not already known? The change of surnames, his social demands, his effort and tenacity to work every day on what he is passionate about… Yes, all this is true, but, beyond all There is an Aitana who is still the same one who started playing with her father with a ball of aluminum foil. Family and friends, your pillars, your grounding poles.

Aitana has always been surrounded by many people, despite being an only child. Her parents unite two large families (at family parties we don’t go below 30!). In neither family have things been easy and the culture of effort has always been very present. Everything she has experienced has made her resilient and has helped her a lot in her career, which has not been a bed of roses either. Any obstacle and difficulty has helped him become stronger. She has never accepted defeat and has created new challenges for herself trying to surpass herself. Like her parents, she is a born fighter. If your grandparents – who left too soon – saw you, they would be very proud.

From a very young age He did all kinds of extracurricular activities, but football has always been his great passion. She had it in her blood. We don’t know why, but whenever she saw a ball, she was dazzled and, if she could, she would throw balls wherever and whenever. She spent hours and hours playing: at home with her father and that ball of aluminum foil, with uncle Paco d’Ontinyent, on the slopes and fields of Ribes, where she spent entire afternoons with friends or acquaintances from the town. Always with boys, yes. An idea that did not convince them. David, one of her childhood friends, has always recognized him. “When she came to play with us, the idea that a girl wanted to play soccer surprised us and some of her did not agree to share a team with her.” This, however, changed when she was seen with the ball hooked at her feet.

Still, she didn’t care. He played and that was it. He didn’t want to give power to those who thought they were better than her because they were children, even though they sometimes touched a chord with her. My paternal grandfather always said: “Don’t worry about problems, take care of yourself.”. And his mother instilled in him that he be strong, that she not get wrinkled. And that is Aitana, a busy, feisty girl, with a strong and determined character, forged since she first touched the ball.

And the moment came when Barça knocked on the door. That was wonderful for her. As culé as she was and for Barça to notice her… It was the best thing that could happen to a 13-year-old teenager. But, as I said, the beginnings were not easy at all. Her parents could not accompany her (he without a driving license and she with diagnosed fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue). Her only option was to go to the Ciutat Esportiva by public transport. She spent hours and hours on the bus, studying, reading, eating, sleeping to make the way there and back to be able to fulfill her great dream: playing for Barça. Then came the Catalan and Spanish teams. Quite a challenge for her. But, as we know, challenges are her strong point and with her ambitious and curious character, she always wants to learn more.

It is a dream for the whole family to see the person he has become. Having it is exciting and fills us with pride. In it we have seen many of our dreams come true when we were little..

We will follow her wherever she goes and support her, always keeping our feet on the ground. Successes are not given, you have to earn them, as her father has always told her. And Aitana has learned her lesson well. If she is where she is now, it is thanks to herself.
