Ajman Minister V. Non-resident organizations have sent complaints to Muralidharan Minister V. Muraleedharan’s Ajman visit

Ajman: Union Minister of State V. Non-resident organizations presented their grievances before Muralidharan. In the meeting of expatriate organizations held in Ajman, the organizations raised various issues.

Leaders of various organizations participated representing the emirates of Ajman, Sharjah, Umm al-Khuwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Mostly representatives of Malayali organizations participated in the meeting.

The organizations raised the issue of increase in air fares during the peak flight times for expatriates. It was also pointed out that no rehabilitation was provided to expatriates who came back during the Covid period. It was presented before the minister that the non-implementation of non-resident voting rights was a disregard for the non-residents.

They alleged that apart from the Prime Minister saying that the expatriates are ambassadors, there is no comforting action for them. He demanded to provide educational assistance to non-resident children. It also pointed out that the UAE was neglected in the Pravasi Bharatiya award. It was also demanded that the bodies of expatriates who die in the Gulf should be brought home free of cost.

Various issues related to passport renewal were also brought to the attention of the minister. Puthur Rahman, president of UAE KMCC, who represented Fujairah, said that all these demands have been stated before and there should be sincere measures. Representatives of Sharjah, Khorfaqan, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain Associations were also present. The minister returned after a three-day visit.
