Shivpal Singh Yadav is the brother of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the main opposition Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. Shivpal left the party after a disagreement with Mulayam Singh’s son Akhilesh when he became the leader of the Samajwadi Party.
Then he started his own party, the Prakash Samajwadi Party Lokia (BSPL).
He stood alone in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. As a result, both the Samajwadi Party and the BSPL suffered heavy losses as the Yadav vote in UP split significantly.
Thus, the latest U.P. Shivpal contested the assembly elections along with the Akhilesh-led alliance. At that time, 100 people, including his son Aditya Yadav, had asked Akhilesh for a chance. But Akhilesh allowed Shivpal to compete only in his bicycle symbol.
Following the March 10 election results, the BJP returned to power in UP. The Samajwadi Party got only 111 constituencies. This led to resentment against Akhilesh among the parties in the alliance. In this, the first person was Akhilesh’s uncle Shivpal Singh BJP The page began to dye.
As a first step, he yesterday ordered the dissolution of all executive bodies of his BSPL party, including the state and district executive councils. Thus, controversy has arisen that he is going to merge his party with the BJP.
Earlier, Shivpal had spoken in favor of important public civil law in the BJP’s Hindutva policy. This also confirms his joining the BJP. Shivpal is said to have made the decision considering the political future of his son Aditya.
This conflict with Akhilesh has now ended UP. The Samajwadi Party did not win a single seat in the 36 MLC seats in the Upper House elections. In this context, supporters of Azam Khan, another powerful leader of the Samajwadi Party, have also begun to show dissatisfaction with Akhilesh.
They have complained that Akhilesh has met Azam Khan, who has been lodged in jail for the last two years, only once in jail. On this issue, Akhilesh, Azam Khan and Shivpal are all avoiding commenting directly.
