Businessman Rinat Akhmetov denied the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he was being drawn into the preparation of a coup d’etat in Ukraine. This statement was posted on the Facebook account of System Capital Management, which Akhmetov founded.
“The information made public by Volodymyr Zelensky about allegedly drawing me into some kind of coup d’état is a complete lie. I am outraged that I have been drawn into this lie, despite what the president says, ”Akhmetov said.
He noted that he stands for an independent, democratic and integral Ukraine and that his actions prove this. Akhmetov stressed that he will continue to defend a free Ukraine and will do everything possible to avoid authoritarianism and censorship in the country.
Earlier today, during a big press conference, Zelensky said that he had received information about the upcoming coup d’etat in Ukraine, which is supposedly to take place on December 1. He spoke about audio recordings of conversations between representatives of Ukraine and Russia, who allegedly discuss the allocation of $ 1 billion for the coup, as well as the participation of businessman Rinat Akhmetov in it. According to Forbes, the latter is the richest citizen of Ukraine with a fortune of $ 7.6 billion.
Zelensky considered that such conversations were a “set-up” for Akhmetov. However, if the information received is correct, it will be a big mistake on the part of the businessman, the president said.
