Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PDR Palanivel Thiagarajan presented the Tamil Nadu Budget for the financial year 2023-24 today (March 20). A lot of public announcements were made in this budget. There were also some announcements for government employees. While one party expressed displeasure with this budget, most welcomed it. In this case, All India Construction Workers’ Central Union General Secretary M. Panneerselvam has expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for making Tamil Nadu a flagship state by allocating more funds to the industrial sector, education and medicine for the eligible female heads of families holding ration cards.

In a statement issued by him, “In order to fulfill the election promise, an announcement has been made that women’s rights amount of 1000 rupees per month will be given to qualified heads of families in the coming financial year. The scheme will start from 15th September and the allocation of Rs 7000 crore for this scheme is welcome.

A target of Rs 30,000 crore has been set to provide loans to women self-help groups. A medical scheme has been announced to benefit 8.35 lakh workers and their families in 711 industrial establishments.

The announcement that a flyover will be built on Anna Road from Chennai Thenampet to Saidapet as a 4-lane road, the North Chennai Development Plan will cost Rs. 1000 crore allocation, bond registration fee has been reduced to 2 percent. Through this, more land can be bought and sold. Construction of buildings will increase business wealth. Employment of construction workers will increase.
