The American singer Akon and the Brazilian band NX Zero were announced in the 2024 edition of Rock in Rio. The information was released this Tuesday, 26th, on the festival’s social networks.
Mixing R&B, hip-hop and African rhythms, Akon became well known in the music industry in the 2000s. Owner of hits such as “Lonely” and “I Wanna Love You”, the singer will perform on Palco Mundo on September 22nd, even day that Shawn Mendes and Ne-Yo.

The Brazilian band NX Zero takes the Sunset stage on September 14th. With songs that marked a generation, such as “Razões e Emoções” and “Cedo ou Tarde”, the Latin Grammy-winning group will be the night’s headliner.
21 Savage and Deadmau5 perform at Rock in Rio 2024
The American 21 Savage will be an attraction on Palco Mundo on September 13th, joining Travis Scott and Matuê, who will perform a show with the participation of Teto and WIU. Among the rapper’s hits are the Grammy winner “A Lot” and “redrum”, which samples the song “Serenata do Adeus”, composed by Vinicius de Moraes.
Another confirmation in the event’s line-up on the 13th was Canadian music producer Deadmau5, known for his progressive house compositions. In 2010, the electronic artist performed at Rock in Rio Lisboa. This year, he comes to Brazil and will headline New Dance Order.
The festival in Rio de Janeiro celebrates its 40th anniversary and will have shows on the 13th, 14th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd of September 2024.
