Actor Akshay Kumar has acted in the most biopic films in Bollywood in the last few years. Now another biopic of his is coming. Akshay Kumar will play the role of mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill. In 1989, Jaswant Singh Gill saved the lives of 64 workers trapped in a coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal after a flood. It is known that this incident is the basis of the movie.
1920: Made in London, the film is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. Tinu has also worked as an assistant director in Akshay Kumar starrer Baby. The shooting of the film, which is yet to be officially announced, has already begun in London. A picture of Akshay Kumar’s character has also come out. In the picture, Akshay Kumar is seen wearing a red Sikh turban. The film is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Jackie Bhagnani under the banner of Pooja Entertainment.
Meanwhile, Suryavanshi was the only Akshay Kumar film to achieve box office success post-Covid. Bellbottom, Bachchan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj starrer failed to earn the expected collection from an Akshay Kumar film. Rakshabandhan, Ram Sethu, Oh My God 2, Selfie, the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Driving License, Soorarai Potter remake and many other projects of his are in various stages of production.
