“File Number XY … Unsolved” is in the lead
Looking at the reach among all viewers aged three and above, it can already be stated that RTL predictably could not keep pace with XY, as the viewer numbers here were significantly below “File Number” levels even without the strong ZDF competition. Thus, the television investigation garnered 4.30 million viewers and 19.2 percent of the total audience last night, while the IBES special only managed 2.25 million and 10.4 percent – which clearly put it at a disadvantage.
But how did it fare among the 14-49-year-olds? Were Zietlow, Köppen, and Co. able to hold their ground against Cerne and Co., or did they also have to relinquish the prime-time victory here? With a reach of 0.73 million and a subsequent ratings share of exactly 18.0 percent, the market leadership was narrowly maintained in Cologne and Mpumalanga, but once again fell below the 20 percent mark. Subsequently, “The Legendary Hour After” performed even less legendary – 16.3 percent in the target group still means a nice result that is clearly above the channel average.
