Akylbek Japarov said that it is necessary to review the educational programs

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, noted the need to completely revise the educational programs. He announced this at the forum on reforming the industry held on April 6 in Bishkek. Japarov named five directions for reforming the education sector. He noted that one of them is adapting educational programs to the demands of the labor market.

“It is long past time to make a partial decision. We should have started the adaptation process long ago. As we pilot different programs, look at one program or another, and travel to different countries and conferences, several eras have changed in adopting successful practices. Today, not only us, but developed countries are facing the fact that modern education systems are not ready for the general availability of artificial intelligence. “Today, schools and universities around the world are completely rethinking their approach to homework, abstracts and essays, because programs like Chat GPT produce the highest quality texts in a few seconds,” said the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Japarov noted that the second direction of reforming the education sector is to improve the quality of teaching. The third is infrastructure development and access to education. The fourth direction is to introduce a flexible approach to education. The fifth is to develop creative and critical thinking.

As part of this implementation, the government said that in the coming years, schools, kindergartens and new university campuses will be actively built.

“The Ministry of Education should revive the Mektep publishing house and adapt textbooks from around the world to teaching and implementation in our schools,” Japarov said.

The issue of network reform has been discussed for a long time. In March, Kanybek Imanaliev was appointed as the Minister of Education and Science. When he took office, he said that he would start reforms and that it was time to introduce a voucher system in education. (KE)
