Al-Aqouri calls for an end to all foreign interference in the country’s affairs

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee in the House of Representatives, Youssef Al-Aqouri, participated in the conference “Foreign Interventions and their Impact on the Libyan Crisis,” which was held in the capital, Tripoli, at the invitation of the Libyan Center for Studies and Policy Making.

A number of elites, interested parties, researchers and academics from various Libyan universities participated in the conference, and a number of different research papers on foreign intervention in Libya were presented.

In addition to evaluating the role of the United Nations mission in Libya, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee delivered a speech at the opening of the conference in which he stressed “the necessity of preserving the sovereignty and unity of the country by working to stop all interference in the country’s internal affairs,” explaining that “this “It requires stabilizing the internal situation in Libya by working to establish a permanent constitution for the country, advancing the reconciliation process, unifying executive authority, and affirming the right of the Libyan people to choose who represents them through free and fair elections.”

Al-Aqouri also referred in his speech to the history of the founding fathers of the Libyan state who were keen on the country’s independence and avoiding falling under the influence of external influence.

Al-Aqouri renewed his thanks to the conference participants and the organizer, stressing the need to intensify all sincere national efforts to stop foreign interference in Libya, give priority to the country’s higher interests, and demand the departure of foreign forces from all Libyan territory.
