Al-Baour discusses strengthening relations with Venezuela, Turkey and Bulgaria

On the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Acting Foreign Minister of the Government of National Unity Taher Al-Baour met with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto.

The meeting addressed “the historical relations between the two friendly peoples and ways to enhance and develop them. A number of other topics and files of common interest were also discussed, especially the return of the Venezuelan embassy to work from the capital, Tripoli.”

The two sides expressed their “desire to move forward towards strengthening bilateral relations through the possibility of activating a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding to serve common interests.”

Al-Taher Al-Baour also met with Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burhanuddin Duran, on the sidelines of the “High-Level Week of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.”

The meeting discussed “reviewing the latest developments and changes in the economic and political situation in Libya. The two sides also discussed ways to unify efforts to coordinate and consult on various issues and other topics of common interest.”

Al-Baour expressed his appreciation for Türkiye’s role in supporting stability efforts in Libya.

A consultative meeting was held between the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, and the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivan Kondov, on the sidelines of the “High-Level Week of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.”

The two sides stressed their “desire to move forward towards strengthening bilateral relations and working to resume the Bulgarian mission’s activity from the capital, Tripoli.”

During the meeting, the “Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations between the Libyan and Bulgarian Ministries of Foreign Affairs” was signed.
