Al-Baour holds meetings on the sidelines of the Cooperation Forum in China

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, participated in the activities of the 9th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in China.

On the sidelines of the forum, Al-Baour met with his counterpart, Sierra Leone’s Foreign Minister, Kaba Musa Alhaji, and the meeting discussed “ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, coordination and political consultation between the two countries, in light of Sierra Leone’s presidency of the upcoming Security Council meeting as a non-permanent member.”

The two sides stressed “support for international efforts aimed at enhancing stability, and affirming the parties’ commitment to the Libyan agreements concluded under the auspices of the United Nations, and respecting the relevant Security Council resolutions related to the ceasefire.”

Al-Baour also met with Ethiopian Foreign Minister Taye Atsegye Selassie, where the two sides reviewed relations between the two countries and prospects for enhancing cooperation and ways to develop them. They also reviewed developments in the regional and international arenas and ways to overcome the challenges facing African issues of common interest.

Al-Baour attended the ministerial meeting of the forum, accompanied by the Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammed Al-Huwaij. The meeting activities began under the joint chairmanship of the Chinese Foreign Minister and the Senegalese Foreign Minister, where the future work agenda was discussed and the proposed work plans were approved, which focus on several areas in the economy and trade and enhance political consultation.
