Al-Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity, met with Ahmed Al-Jahani, Libya’s representative to the International Criminal and Justice Court in The Hague..
The meeting dealt with “discussing the latest developments related to the Libyan file before the court, with a focus on developments in the Palestinian issue and the role of international institutions in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people.” The importance of continuous coordination to enhance justice efforts to protect national interests was also stressed.
Al-Baour also met with the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, where the meeting discussed “prospects for enhancing joint cooperation between the two sides and supporting the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, to achieve a comprehensive political settlement in the country.”
The two sides discussed “the importance of supporting the efforts of the Joint Military Committee (5+5), as well as unifying efforts to strengthen control over the southern border, which contributes to enhancing regional security and confronting cross-border challenges.”
During the meeting, “the European Union’s programs in Libya were reviewed, with a focus on enhancing economic cooperation and sustainable development, and developing strategic partnerships that contribute to supporting and stabilizing the Libyan economy.”
