“Al-Dabaiba” attends the founding ceremony of the University of Misrata

Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, students and faculty members at the University of Misrata participated in its celebration of the fortieth anniversary of its founding, in a ceremony attended by the Ministers of Transportation, Muhammad Al-Shahoubi, Minister of Higher Education, Imran Al-Qayeb, Education, Musa Al-Magarif, and a number of faculty members at various universities..

During his speech, the Prime Minister stressed “the importance of the university as one of the most prominent educational institutions in the country, noting its scientific and academic achievements that contributed to strengthening Libya’s position in international rankings, reiterating the government’s support for the higher education sector.”

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of a number of personalities, as the former presidents of the University of Misrata and a number of faculty members were honored, including Professor Dr. Muftah Shtwan, Professor Dr. Ali Awain, Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Ashhab, Professor Dr. Muftah Al-Shuwaihdi, and Professor Dr. Muhammad bin Hamida.

In a gesture of appreciation, the University of Misrata awarded an honorary doctorate to Al-Dabaiba, in honor of his positions in support of higher education in Libya. Al-Dabaiba expressed his thanks for this gesture, stressing that the government’s support for the education sector is part of a strategic vision aimed at improving the quality of education and providing an academic environment that keeps pace with global developments. .

At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Dabaiba expressed, “his hope that Misrata University will remain a scientific beacon that continues its educational and research mission, stressing the government’s commitment to providing all capabilities that enhance the progress of higher education in Libya.”
