The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, followed the progress of work at the Customs Authority and learned about its plans for the year 2025 and the difficulties it faces, during his meeting with the Director General of the Customs Authority, Major General Musa Muhammad.
During the meeting, Al-Dabaiba directed “the necessity of combating customs evasion in all its forms and types, and coordinating with the Ministry of Transportation to provide advanced inspection devices and maintain the devices present in the ports. He also stressed the importance of supporting the customs directorates and centers in all ports, organizing their work, and qualifying the technical personnel working in them to carry out their role.” “.
He stressed “the need to confront the dangers threatening the country by combating drug smuggling that is introduced through various ports.”
Al-Dabaiba also directed, “to review the tracking and tracing system for imported goods, and the necessity of holding technical meetings with the chambers of commerce, industry, agriculture, and suppliers at various levels, to clarify the implementation mechanism and its advantages in regulating imports, and to be informed of suppliers’ concerns regarding its application, praising the national role of workers in the Customs Authority in protecting Citizens and the country from the entry of spoiled goods.”
The Director of the Authority presented “a visual presentation reviewing the Authority’s activity during the current year, including the revenues generated, and the most prominent difficulties and problems facing the directorates and centers in all ports, touching on aspects of cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Central Bank to regulate imports and ensure their quality.”
The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, directors of departments and offices in the department, the head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Muhammad Al-Raid, and the director of the Libya e-commerce network.
