The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, issued instructions to “the Ministry of Interior to coordinate and support the broad military operation in the West Coast region, to combat crime and smuggling.”
Al-Dabaiba stressed “the necessity of circulating instructions to all security services and forces affiliated with the Ministry, stressing the prohibition of any armed vehicles leaving their positions or carrying out any movements that may obstruct the operation, except after direct coordination with the commander of the West Coast Military District.”
Earlier, the commander of the West Coast Military Region, Lieutenant General Dr. Salah Al-Namroush, gave “orders to members of the region to begin military operations in the entire region, to strike criminal dens, and the first stage begins from the city of Zawiya.”
The West Coast Military District called on all citizens in the city of Zawiya to “stay away from suspicious places and dens, and indicated that the ongoing operations are to ensure security and stability in the city and all cities on the West Coast, and called on citizens to cooperate and report suspicious activities.”
