Head of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, welcomed the briefing of the UN envoy Abdullah Batili, today, Tuesday, before the UN Security Council session on Libya.

Al-Dabaiba said in a post on his official Facebook page that the briefing included an emphasis on the importance of preserving the country’s unity and not reinforcing the state of division. He referred to the creation of parallel paths and institutions that undermine efforts to resolve the crisis and prevent the country from reaching elections through the dialogue table.

Al-Dabaiba added: “In this regard, I recall our firm position of the necessity of accelerating efforts to reach a fair and transparent electoral process based on a fair constitutional basis that guarantees the participation of all parties without exclusion or discrimination.”

He continued: “I also add my voice to what Mr. Batelli mentioned, that what some institutions are doing in disrupting the elections is a danger to the future of our country, and I share with him that the state of public discontent and anger regarding the increase in the tax on foreign exchange still exists, and I renew my call to speed up its cancellation and not burden the citizen.” The cost of uncontrolled parallel spending.”
