Sharjah: Al Daid Date Festival begins today. It is a fair involving hundreds of palm farmers from the UAE. Palm farmers and official organizations related to agriculture will participate in the program.
The date festival has been organized by Sharjah Chamber of Commerce Industry (SCCI) from 21st to 26th at Expo Al Daid in Sharjah.
The public is allowed to visit from 8 am to 10 pm.
Prizes worth Dhs 10 lakh will be given to 145 winners in six categories at the fair.
The program will help in providing instructions to the farmers on modern farming methods and procedures to be adopted to improve the quality of production.
It is hoped that such programs will make significant contributions to the development of the date industry. It is now the golden age of dates in the Gulf countries. There are many programs related to date harvesting in various emirates.
