The director of the five-berth project at Al-Faw Port, Raed Al-Sharafi, confirmed today, Friday, that the completion rate of the berths exceeded 98 percent, while pointing out that the port has the capacity to receive 5 giant ships at one time, and there are negotiations to introduce new berths.

Al-Sharafi told the (INA): “Work is continuing on the five-berth project, which is the backbone of the port,” indicating that “the completion rate has exceeded 98 percent.”
He explained that “work has been completed on the connecting bridges,” noting that “the installation of ship bumpers has reached 80 percent.”
He pointed out that “the total length of the docks is 1,750 metres”, noting that “the docks can accommodate 5 giant ships at one time.”
He added, “Negotiations to add 5 new docks have reached advanced stages with a major Chinese company.”
