Today, Monday, the head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Faleh al-Fayyad, discussed with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad the control of borders and the pursuit of extremist organizations.
The General Information Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Forces said in a statement received by the (INA): “The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Faleh al-Fayyad, met today with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.”
The statement added, “The two sides discussed enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the areas of combating terrorism and effective coordination to control borders and pursue extremist organizations and their remnants that seek to target the security of Syria and Iraq.”
According to the statement, President al-Assad stressed that “terrorism, which adopts the method of killing and bloodshed, is the same everywhere in the world,” noting that “the supporters of terrorism in Syria and Iraq are the same as its supporters in other places, no matter how many names these terrorist organizations have.”
The Syrian President noted that “the steadfastness and strength of the Syrian and Iraqi armies were the basis for achieving successive victories against terrorists and their supporters.”
