Al-Haddad discusses in Niger enhancing security and military cooperation

Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad and his accompanying delegation paid an official visit to Niger to discuss enhancing security in the region and military cooperation between the two countries.

The Chief of Staff stated that the visit comes within the framework of the keenness of the Ministry of Defense in the Government of National Unity and the Chief of Staff on the necessity of communication and coordination with neighboring countries and countries of strategic depth to secure the borders, enhance security and military cooperation, and because communication represents great importance in light of the current circumstances.

The team, headed by Al-Haddad and his accompanying delegation, included the Chief of Staff of the Nigerien Army, the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Guard, the Chiefs of Staff of the Land and Air Forces, and the Director of the Military Intelligence Department of the State of Niger, in addition to the Chargé d’Affaires and a number of employees at the Libyan Embassy in the State of Niger.

A meeting was held at the headquarters of the General Staff in the Nigerien capital, Niamey. The Chief of General Staff gave a speech at the beginning, thanking the warm reception and hospitality. He expressed his happiness to visit Niger, praising the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries, and stressing the importance of this meeting, which is an opportune opportunity to exchange views on the development of the situation in the regional area.

The meeting discussed the crises that affect the security of the two countries and destabilize them, and working together to resolve them, as well as the efforts made to preserve bilateral relations between the two countries in this sensitive circumstance that the region is going through, as well as intensifying work and cooperation in protecting borders and combating terrorism.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Chief of General Staff and his accompanying delegation met with the Vice President of the Nigerien National Council and Minister of Interior, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior in Niger. During the meeting, the Vice President of the Nigerien National Council welcomed Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad and his accompanying delegation, praising the historical relations between the two countries.

At the end of the visit, the Chief of General Staff stressed the need to open channels of communication and exchange visits, to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and common destiny.
