Al Haouz earthquake: 1,305 dead and 1,832 injured, including 1,220 seriously (provisional report from the Ministry of the Interior)
Rabat – The earthquake that struck several provinces and prefectures of the Kingdom on Friday evening left 1,305 dead and 1,832 injured, including 1,220 seriously, according to a provisional report from the Ministry of the Interior, released Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
The earthquake left 694 dead in the province of Al Haouz, 347 dead in the province of Taroudant, 191 dead in the province of Chichaoua, 39 dead in the province of Ouarzazate and 14 dead in the prefecture of Marrakech, the ministry said in a statement.
No new deaths were recorded in the provinces and prefectures of Azilal, Agadir Ida Outanane, Grand Casablanca, Youssoufia and Tinghir, added the same source.
In execution of the High Royal Instructions, the public authorities are continuing their mobilization in order to accelerate the rescue operations, the evacuation and care of the injured, and the mobilization of all the necessary resources in order to respond to the repercussions of this painful tragedy.
